Invitation - 29th Deutsche Schule Athen Model United Nations Conference

Last Updated: Wednesday, 18 February 2026 09:57

Dear MUN Director, Advisor, Colleague,

We cordially invite you to the 29th DSAMUN Conference (Deutsche Schule Athen Model United Nations Conference) to be held from Friday 16 to Sunday 18 October 2026 at Deutsche Schule Athen / Germaniki Scholi Athinon (GSA).

DSAMUN is a three-day-long simulation of the work of the United Nations. It is designed for secondary school students (Greek Lykeion/grades 10-12) and is intended to provide an occasion for the delegates to discuss world issues. It gives them the opportunity to experience the work of the United Nations and to get to know the world of diplomacy. For students from schools where the first language is not English an MUN conference also offers the opportunity to develop and practice their English, as the official language of DSAMUN (preparing resolutions, lobbying, debating) is English.

DSAMUN has 4 General Assembly Committees (Disarmament and International Security Committee, Social, Humanitarian and Cultural Committee, Special Political and Decolonization Committee and Legal Committee) and 7 specialized committees (Security Council, ECOSOC, Environmental Committee, World Health Organisation, Special Conference on Rediscovering diplomacy in an era of political instability, Youth Assembly and International Court of Justice).

The delegates should research and prepare draft resolutions and policy statements on the various issues and learn to negotiate and debate in the formal way of the United Nations.

The MUN website (www.dsamun.gr) provides you with all the necessary detailed information. You register online. For any further information please contact our team at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

We hope to welcome you at our conference.

Yours sincerely,

Invitation Secretariat

Esteemed members of the MUN community,

We sincerely invite you to the 29th DSAMUN Conference (Deutsche Schule Athen Model United Nations Conference) to be held from Friday 16 to Sunday 18 October 2026 at Deutsche Schule Athen, under the auspices of the German Embassy. This year’s Special Conference is on “Rediscovering Diplomacy in an era of political instability”.

Our world is going through an era marked by geopolitical tensions, shifting alliances, domestic polarization as well as the erosion of trust in multilateral institutions. Thus, diplomacy faces unprecedented challenges nowadays. Needless to say, political instability has resulted in the deterioration of traditional channels of dialogue and cooperation, while it has been driven by armed conflicts, economic uncertainty, rapid technological change and many other factors. It is in such capricious circumstances that the true value of diplomacy is revealed. That is the reason why this year’s Special Conference is on “Rediscovering Diplomacy in an Era of Political Instability”. DSAMUN believes in renewed commitment to communication, negotiation, and mutual understanding as the primary tools for conflict prevention and resolution. It is the international community’s responsibility to recommit to diplomacy as the basis of peaceful coexistence and global stability, instead of permitting divisions to intensify.

Our 29th annual conference is a realistic three-day simulation of the work of the United Nations, created specifically for secondary school students. During the conference delegates are offered the opportunity to engage with global issues in an international setting that fosters meaningful debate and collaboration. Delegates address serious matters of international concern, draft resolutions and declarations, while the conference adds to the development of essential skills in negotiation and cooperation. With English serving as the official language of the conference, participants will have the chanse to actively enhance their English language skills.

DSAMUN consists of 4 General Assembly Committees (Disarmament and International Security Committee, Social, Humanitarian and Cultural Committee, Special Political and Decolonization Committee and Legal Committee) and 7 specialized committees (Security Council, ECOSOC, Environmental Committee, Special Conference on Rediscovering Diplomacy in an era of political instability , World Health Organisation, Youth Assembly and International Court of Justice). This year’s conference will be the first to feature the committee of the World Health Organization (WHO), adding a distinctive and highly relevant dimension to our debates by addressing pressing global health challenges.

The delegates are highly encouraged to invest in research, preparation of draft resolutions and policy statements on the various issues. Additionally participants have the chance of learning to negotiate and debate in the formal way of the United Nations.

Our team’s central mission is the further evolution of DSAMUN as well as the maintenance of its values and principles. We want that all participants achieve a connection with the world of diplomacy and better comprehend the role of Model United Nations.

The DSAMUN official website (https://www.dsamun.gr) provides you with all the necessary detailed information. You can register online (https://dsamun.website). If you have any further questions do not hesitate to contact our team at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

Sincerely,

The Secretary General                                  The Deputy Secretary General

Vasiliki Lentoudi                                               Evita Panagiotopoulou

The President of the General Assembly       The Deputy President of the General Assembly
