The Closing Ceremony

Before I start with the description of the closing ceremony I would like to make a short retrospect on the three days of the conference.

On Thursday, the first day of the DSA-MUN, the delegates and all other participants got to know each other and became familiar with the environment. Also, they attended the opening ceremony, which welcomed everyone to this year's MUN and gave the opportunity for various ambassadors to define their positions on the topics of the conference. After that, the delegates gathered in their committees and started lobbying on various and interesting issues like the Embargo on Cuba. After the lunch break, the delegates continued even more dynamically than before. The delegates also formed alliances and wrote resolutions.
On the second day, the delegates started debating and with the help of the chairs, the co-chairs, the security stuff and the admin staff, the discussions were conducted successfully.
On Saturday, the third and last day of the MUN, the delegates continued debating. At this point, I would like to say that the majority of the resolutions passed, marking this year's conference as quite successful. After lunch the delegates had some more time to debate and finish the discussions and then they were guided to the auditorium where the closing ceremony took place. On with the ceremony then!
Dimitris Tsevas welcomed everyone to this year's MUN closing ceremony and praised all the delegates for their hard work. After that, the audience heard the committee chairs' and presidents' reports. They all congratulated the delegates and thanked everyone for making this year's MUN conference successful. Dimitris Tsevas also thanked them for their wonderful speeches and then introduced the Presidents of the International Court of Justice who also gave a speech and announced the verdict. Moreover, the fundraising department thanked everyone for their donations. The video that the computer staff and the press had created concluded the conference in images of the smiling delegates. Mr. Vasilis Tolias, headmaster of the senior high school, stepped up to the podium and thanked all the directors. Last but not least, the deputy president of the General Assembly, the president of the G.A., the deputy secretary general and the secretary general all gave some very touching speeches. The closing ceremony ended with two pieces of Greek music played by students and accompanied by dances.
The End.
